ANSWERS TO COMMON QUESTIONS

How far is the cabin from Highway 108?
About 5 minutes. We are far enough away to not even know the highway is there but close enough for easy access.
How far away is Yosemite National Park?
It is about a 90 minute drive to the park entrance. Please remember Yosemite does require reservations in advance.
How far is the cabin from Pinecrest Lake?
Pinecrest lake is just over 16 miles up the hill on Highway 108 from the cabin. It is well worth the trip – especially in the warmer months!
Do I need a four-wheel drive in winter?
Always check road conditions before traveling in the winter. When there is snow on the ground it is a good idea to have snow chains or a four-wheel drive vehicle. All of the roads are well-paved and plowed regularly. Feel free to check-in with us prior to your trip if you have additional questions.
What activities in the area do you recommend?
There is lots to do! Besides the obvious relaxing and lounging around the cabin, we also recommend Pinecrest lake, Black Oak Casino, mini-golf in nearby Twain Harte, hiking, and of course Yosemite. In the winter months Dodge Ridge Ski Resort and Long Barn Ice skating are two must-sees.
Where is a good place to eat?
We have a full kitchen and BBQ, but if you are looking to get out for a meal or order something for pickup, Andy’s Mountain Grill on the 108 is our favorite! There is also a coffee shop next door to Andy’s and Pine Cone Cafe also just up the road on the 108. Nearby Twain Harte offers additional places to eat as well as ice cream.
How far away is Dodge Ridge Ski Resort?
Dodge Ridge is just over 19 miles up the hill on highway 108. Dodge Ridge is open year round offering some of the best skiing and boarding in the area as well as several trails and disc golf in the summer.
